Materials & Quality
The materials we use and how we produce them are the pillars of our eco- and animal-friendly mission.
A mission that stands for creating premium, sustainable and unique products for the world's most amazing dogs while always keeping the impact on our planet and all creatures that live on it in mind.

As well as being cruel, animal leather’s environmental impact is incredibly high. Animal agriculture accounts for around 18% of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions and is driving the destruction of our rainforests. In addition, it is extremely energy and water-intensive to produce with lots of chemicals in the tanning process.
One of the main reasons many continue to use animal leather in our industry is based on the belief that vegan leather alternatives can not provide the same high-quality, luxurious look and feel and durability as animal leather. Nothing could be further from the truth.
From our earliest beginning, we use organic hemp webbing for our collars, harnesses, and leashes. Hemp is one of those materials that stand precisely for what we love. It is more environment-friendly to cultivate, super durable, soft, and kind for the skin.
By choosing organic hemp, or organic cotton over conventionally grown cotton, you choose a material that is produced in a way that reduces water and toxic chemical use and improves conditions for farmers.
We strive to use only GOTS and FSC-certified materials.
We try to reduce the environmental impacts of our metal consumption by using lower-impact metals.
We use solid brass hardware for our products, and solid brass consists of an alloy of copper and zinc. It's known for its superior strength, resilience, and quality.
Solid brass is made purely of brass from its core to its exterior. In the dog accessory industry, however, most brass hardware is brass plated instead of solid brass. And the 'solid brass' hardware used in this industry mainly consists of extremely high levels of lead and zinc. This causes the hardware to corrode quicker, break more quickly, and lose its quality look and feel much sooner.
Recycled polyester is an artificial fiber from oil-based waste such as old PET bottles or polyester clothing. It’s a way more sustainable option than conventional polyester, as we can reuse a material that’s already been produced. In addition, making recycled polyester requires half the energy used for standard polyester.
We love using sustainable (dry) waxed cotton - the ultimate performance fabric - and uniquely sustainable.
Many synthetic waterproofed fabrics end up in landfill once performance levels cannot be maintained through delamination.
Waxed fabrics can be regularly reproofed to maintain performance for many years, making them uniquely sustainable.
Made in the UK from GOTS certificated organic cotton and fully biodegradable wax, by the world's leading manufacturers and innovators in waxed cotton.
